I am a British Wheel of Yoga teacher. Having discovered that my well-being and ability to relax improved at a very busy time of my life through the restorative qualities of Yoga, I wanted to learn more. What I learned seemed too good to keep to myself so I trained as a Yoga teacher in order to share that knowledge. I have been teaching Yoga continuously in Leicestershire since 1993, becoming a fully qualified British Wheel of Yoga teacher in 1995, and regularly undertake further training. I am also a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals.
My classes, held in the mornings and evenings, are aimed at beginners and improvers. They are based in south east Leicestershire at Kibworth, Hallaton and Oadby. I also offer one-to-one sessions (taught in the comfort of your own home) for people for whom a general class would be inappropriate (e.g. if someone has ME or MS and finds it too tiring to come to an evening class), or for those who cannot commit to a regular weekly class.
It is 9 or 10 years since I started Yoga and have found it very rewarding. It has been very good not only physically but also mentally. After an operation and a bad fall I think that although I have not been able to do some of the postures so well with Celia’s help and guidance I feel my body is improving. When I have been upset or have a disagreement, it is very beneficial to do the mountain pose or sit down quietly and relax and do some Yoga breathing. I shall continue for as long as I am able.
For regular classes there is a “try before you buy” policy which means that you can come along for a trial lesson free of charge (pre-bookings only: please ring me on (0116) 279 3397 – answer phone available).
